Hi Gerald,

My battery setting using maximum percentage for all include phone calls. If you see the duration it is just few minutes usage and no background usage. even though, i turned off my mobile data and put in airplane mode. Still the same result. Draining in standby mode.. Checked some reviews regarding 10.0.2 same feedback as mine.. Even more worst.

Seriously need solution..

Unfortunately, it is a major issue and bug in 10.0.2. I have experienced the same issue with losing 1% every 2-3 mins when not even using my phone. Best thing to do is to downgrade to 10.0.1. Download the ipsw file for your phone from any site online. Google ipsw firmware for 10.0.1...it'll pop up with a bunch of sites. No fix until apple releases a new update. Good luck!

My iPhone 6 is behaving like this too. The battery is rapidly draining as you look at the screen. It drops in one step from around 40-37% to 1%. The final straw was last night, even though it was 85% when I went to bed, it was at 1% and close to shutdown when I woke, even though it was in do not disturb mode.

It is similar to the problems I had with my 4 & 5. Both the 4 and 5 were cured by changing the batteries. I hope this is just an update problem and not another dud battery. Might have to try and re install 10.0.01 until a new update is downloaded.

I had this problem too after I upgraded my new iPhone 7 plus (ATT) to 10.0.2. I tried everything including airplane mode and turning off location services and turning off all background processes and still I has significant battery drain even when the phone was sleeping. The only fix I found was to update the phone to the iOS 10.1 beta. I think that this is definitely a problem with iOS 10.0.2. I think the only fix is to upgrade to the 10.1 beta or downgrade to 10.0.1. I chose the upgrade since I didn't have to erase my phone to do this.

Sounds simple, but it works:

If you made a backup of the iPhone using iTunes (as I advise to before ANY iOS or APP updates), you can easily restore back to iOS 9.x.x that you had working earlier. This is S.O.P. for all updates anywhere these days. Protect yourself first.

Too bad Apple is falling down on faulty software as the hardware is always excellent. Steve Jobs would not have approved this kind of rush-to-market foul. Heads would have rolled, and I hope they will at Apple.
